Velvet is a soft and visually heavy fabric which can be made from either natural or synthetic fibers like silk, cotton, polyester and/or viscose. Velvet can often appear more dense and smoother than chenille.

FYI - Silk velvet hangs and drapes nicely whilst cotton velvet is often stronger and more durable.Customers also use velvet fabric for all sorts of clothing - gowns, skirts, dresses and tops. Although velvet is usually associated with special occasions, many customers are now using it for more than just formal wear. They are actually using velvet to add a little more glam to their everyday look.
